Normally Development Officers recruit agents. The Development Officers are exclusive officisls to recruit, support and train LIC agents. Among the Development Officers those who have reached certain levels of better performance are designated as Senior Business Associates. They are provided with a personal office with the name LIC Life Plus. Their work is also to recruit, train and support agents. They are permitted to recruit agents anywhere in India. Apart from them, in recent days LIC permits certain categories of top performing agents called Chief Life Insurance Advisors also to recruit agents. While Development Officer's job is only recruitment and training, these CLIAs have to do the work of an agent also and support the agents recruited by him too.

Not because, I am an employee of LIC of India, but as a common man also I would like to suggest, LIC of India as the best insurance company for career prospects. LIC agency offers commission only based on the performance of the agent. There is no fixed salary. But there are schemes called as CCA (City Career Agent) and RCA (Rural Career Agent). A CCA will receive Rs.6000/- pm as stipend every month for one year. There are LIC agents who are earning Rs.80 Lakhs per month as commission in India… LIC agency profession offers you unlimited income and freedom of working hours. No job with salary can give you this much of monthly income and freedom of working hours. If you are successful, you can attend conference in USA every year. LIC agency is not an easy job but not a difficult one too…If you understand the concepts it is the simplest job. It can be said LIC agency is not a job but a business. You will be an entrepreneur, without much investment. This is a job where you are your own boss and where even sky is not the limit for your growth. Your role is to create awareness about LIC and make people understand the importance of Life insurance. You can introduce LIC policy as a tool for financial planning.

For the policies with term of 15 years premium paying Endowmwnt type policies :
Commission for 1st Year : 25 + 10 % Bonus Commission
2nd & 3rd years : 7.5 %
Remaining years : 5 %
For one time premium policies (deposits), agents get 2% commission.
LIC agent is not getting success in every call (meeting the prospects). Sometimes, he even follows one prospect for years together.

Yes. Renewal commission is the great advantage of LIC agency. If one has worked continuously for 5 years, even if he gets terminated, he will be paid renewal commission till the policyholders pay their premiums. In no other business such a facility is available. If you resign from the job even after 2 or 3 decades, you may get no monetary benefit from that day onwards for the hard work of all those years. I invite anyone who is willing to work hard for just 5 years and create a great wealth for future and retire and enjoy life to join as an LIC agent. If you have confidence that you can collect regular premium of 50 lakhs per annum for 5 years, you can be assured of regular income of 1 lakh pm for almost next 20 years and enjoy life. If you do more, for example, if you can collect 1 crore per annum, your income will be 2 lakhs pm. The income mentioned above is after 5 years. Yes. You are welcome to be an LIC agent. The work of an agent involves financial planning. Being a qualified Chartered Accountant, you will have a great winning edge over an ordinary agent. If you like, and if your age is below 35, you can even become a permanent employee of LIC also by becoming a Development Officer. You can even go on promotion into administration as BM and still higher levels. There is a great need for a qualified financial professional who can give suitable, professional advice to clients, as LIC plans are long term commitment with specific needs. 24 Lives & 30,000 First Year Commission is the minimum business required for a CCA. CCA means City Career Agent. They will be getting Rs.6000/- pm as stipend for one year in addition to the commission like regular agents.

LIC agent gets a lot of advances, mostly interest free. As the level of success goes up, the benefits also goes up to a great extend. Even regular govt employees get only few 1000s as festival advance (For Tamil Nadu Govt. employees, it is Rs.5000/-only, I think). But LIC agents at the level of Chairman’s club are eligible to get Rs.25,000/-, which is to be repaid in 10 instalments without any interest. There are club membership higher than Chairman club also who are enjoying still greater benefits. Any employee who works at moderate salary, normally suffers to find funds to celebrate festivals. But LIC agents who are club members need not worry for want of money!!!.

Yes… but if your agency is lapsed within 2 years. Otherwise you will have to be a new agent.
